ok i re-downloaded the 3 files i extracted the redsnow one and it works but the two iphone files are .zip now i extracted them to and i got them to be unzipped now when i hold shift and press restore and it ask me what file to use i cant locate it but when i just look threw my files on my computer i know where they are how to get them but when it comes to actually needing them they cant be located i need help please

That's strange. Try using Firefox to download the files.

did every thing to the t got through all steps on the screen showed an disk drive an at the bottom it said downloading jailbreak data but did not reboot had to restore any comments to help

its prob cause i don't have itunes 9.2 or newer forgot about that duh im a fool gonna download it and try again will reply if that does or doesn't solve my prob

followed the directions to the letter but when it reaches the last screen where it should read "please wait while your device is being jailbroken" it says its preparing and then scrolls through a few progress bars quickly at which point the screen reads "the rest is done on your device" at the top instead of the jailbreaking message and the "Done!" message in the middle of the window... have tried about five times now.... Can anyone help???

when i download the files there is no (iPhone1,2_4.0.2_8A400_Restore.ipsw)file in the folder???

I downloaded as per the instruction, but I am missing the file (iPhone1,2_4.0.2_8A400_Restore.ipsw), got all the other files but stuck. I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong, any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you

HI I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY IPHONE 3G.
MY IPHONE WAS UNLOCK ALREADY BUT I WANTED TO UNLOCK TO 4.2 FIRMWARE. SO I FOLLOW THE STEPS BUT AT STEP 5 MY IPHONE DIED. NOW ITUNES DOESN'T SHOW MY IPHONE AND MY IPHONE HAS ONLY AND IMAGE OF A GUY.

ok, i followed the steps EXACTLY and I unlocked and jailbroke the 3G. I should be happy right? lol Well, this is my first experience with the iPhone and T-Mobile, got the 500 unlimited talk+text+data sim card and my phone seems to only pick up the signal at one bar (not enough to even make a call) if I'm lucky OR it falls off system completely within 2min stating "No Service". What am I doing wrong? Does anyone know the exact T-Mobile settings? Should I be talking to T-Mobile?

This WORKS but ONLY on non-MC model iPhone/iTouch
I just did this on my iPod Touch 2G 16GB. You can check if yours is non-MC by going to Settings - General - About. Then Look at the model number. If it starts with "MC" then sorry you CANNOT jailbreak 4.0.2 If it starts with something else (MB...) then you CAN jailbreak.
Follow the instructions above exactly as is.
Again this is for iPhone 3G OR iPod Touch 2G (non-MC)
Everyone else, sorry will not work

iPhone will only work on AT&T Networks, regardless if you jailbreak/unlock it

Question: 3G running 4.0 was very sluggish so like an idiot I downgraded to 3.1.3 and lost my jailbreak and unlock. Is there a way to upgrade back to 4.0?

Everything was fine for my 3G (I have jailbreak it whit no problems) until I press that everything be erased and after that my phone can not start. Apple sine is on screen. I have try to Jailbrak it again (after 2-3 restarting and waiting more then 2 hours to reboot), it worked out but cellphone never got rebooted. . . It looks like in one moment it stops rebooting and then start it again. Computer does not register phone even if it is connected on it. Does some one know what should I do?! Thank you!

should i be online, while doing the restore? because it said "An error occcured, cannot restore the iphone" and this message came when itune was verifing the restore with Apple.This happened during Step 5Please help!!!!
