Hey,I WISH SOMEONE COULD MAKE THE STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR IDIOTS SO THAT NO ONE CANNOT MAKE MISTAKE WITH JAILBRAKING / UNLOCKING.I have 3gs with jailbroken iOS 4.1 by limera1n / BB 14.05.02Please help me by making the 1., 2., 3... instructions how to unlock.I tried with redsn0w but after choosing " iPad1,1_3.2.2_7B500_Restore.ipsw" it gives me 4 checkboxes and I don´t know which should I check...Could someone be that kind to write very simple instructions for us who are not so specialists?Thanx for advance!

Someone Help me please!!!!--i did the latest unlock on blog.iphone-dev.org using Redsn0w 0.9.6beta5 For iOS 4.2.1 with ipad bb 6.15it was NOT worked and the BB remain unchanged 05.15 like before, so i did it again, the steps with Redsn0w 0.9.6beta5 but my iphone 3G was not restart in IOS, but in restore mode.I've tried again to restore it with iTunes, but have no worked.First iTunes have the error 14 and 2'nd time i get error code 1604I suposed that the baseband have changed at 6.15 after i used 2'nd time i've used Redsn0w 0.9.6beta5.So.., i have an iphone 3G with no IOS but with baseband 6.15.. !!!!! if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it!!!!!Thank you in advance!!!!

Tried to install Redsn0w, but cant get my 3g into dfu mode :( Tried the method of: holding down power> power/home> home, as redsn0w describes, but it keeps coming up with error 'cannot find device use google/youtube to learn how to put device into dfu mode'Any suggestions pleeeeeeeeease

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but I have a jailbroken 3G that still has 4.01 IOS and FW 05.13.04 This new hack seems to be targeted to folks who had updated their FW to 05.14 or 05.15 and were already using 4.1, which I have steadfastly refused to do, despite how freakin' slow my 3G runs on 4.01 Is there an easier/simpler/safer way for me to upgrade to 4.1 or 4.2 IOS while still maintaining my JB and ability to unlock?

I just did the whole process,it took about an hour and a half,my device is a 3GS which serial starts like this 88015 so it should be one of the new bootroms.This is what I did.1-I downloaded the 4.2.1 firmware.1-I updated to 4.2.1 via itunes 10.13-Right after all the steps,after updating and with the phone activated and up and running.4-Downloaded Redsnow 0.9.6b5 and followed all the steps,just like the app asked me to do.It took a while to change the baseband,so do not get scared and just keep following the steps.I thought tethered jailbreak was worse,but it is not FOR ME.IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT IT,ASK OR GO TO THE DEV TEAM SITE AND READ ABOUT TETHERED VS UNTETHERED.If you have any questions just ask me,and go for it.

I want an untethered jailbreak. So much simpler. And I don't think the new features are that useful to me or my cousin. For one, my 3GS is still on 4.0.1 and I love it.

My itunes is 10.1, but not the latest that just released. Not sure if that makes a different.

redsnow fails to recognize the ipsw I downloaded for both ipad and iphone. i tried downloads from itunes and devteam.org mirrors. "unable to recognize specific ipsw" anyone else run into this issue?

Yes, it should be the same process. But you need to ask yourself why you want to go to 4.2.1In this case, my cousin doesn't have apple tv and a networked hp printer. So the airplay and airprint features are just useless to him. The only useful feature is probably the text search function in safari. But i think the untetherness of ios 4.1 outweigh the slight improvements of ios 4.2.1 here. So I chose not to update to 4.2.1

I finally gotto dfu mode after lots and lots of attempts, run Redsn0w and it has been stuck on 'please wait while your device is processed' 'waiting for reboot' for over one and half hours! is this normal?never had a jailbreak like this before

And I am sure safari will not work either that should mean you just jailbroke the device,so now start the same process you started to jailbreak with redsnow and then choose the option "JUST BOOT TETHERED RIGHT NOW" and follow the steps,that should do it.That's what happens with a tethered jailbreak.

This jailbreak just isn't working for me :(I left it connected for over 2hrs, and it didn't get past 'waiting for reboot'. Looked at some other blogs and seen pics of Redsn0w page showing 'install ipad baseband', but my redsn0w downloaded from the devteam blog doesn't have this option. Could this be my problem?

i have a 3g iphone it has 4.2.1 i tryed to jailbreak with redsnow few times but it gets stuck on wiating for reboot and nothing happens waited for 10min and more but nothing happens

I have downloaded Redsn0w, but when I try to run it I dont get the 'allow ipad baseband' option. Anyone know why this is or am I doing something wrong?Pleeeeeeas help :(

Redsnow Worked a charm 3g & 3gs (ios 4.2.1 + 3.2.2 + itunes 10.1)Side note- pretty sure itunes 10.1 doesnt allow for any restore of older FW.(Didnt for me)After completing unlock i removed itunes 10.1 &returned back to itunes 9.2 (dont forget to edit your itunes LIBs in music folder) Bingo i can carry on upgrading/downgrading my other Devs.
