Upgaraded to 5.1 last night. charged the phone to 100%, It's 4:42 pm now and my phone is stil 75% with 2 hours 8 min of usage and 12 hours, 7 min standby. I thought I just want to share. =)btw, I have 4s

M here at 63% with usage 3hrs, 2min and standby 7hrs, 38min.I m observing a battery improvement.

Installed 5.1 yesterday charged my phone overnight then used it all day. After 10 hours my battery life is now at 48%. Before the update I would still have about 70% around this time of the day. So battery life is worse with 5.1

The battery life of my 4S has definitely improved after installing 5.1. No doubt.

Nope. Battery life is the same. 5 hours max use when I have friends that get 10 hours and use the phone way more than me. It's simply unacceptable and for months I have been trying to resolve this and at this point, I'm just going to give up. Hopefully in another two years as technology advances this will just never be an issue anymore. I really wish I was able to get the ten hours that my friends do. I love everything else about the phone, but apple has let me down here.

mines awesome.iPhone 4s, optus (carrier) - Australia,i havent recharged my phone for 2 days and only uses about 20% a dayits jailbroken, i use it regularly for mail, not much for phone.

Yesterday i upgraded to 5.1. But my 4s battery still sucks.. Even on standby.

I upgraded to 5.1 about 2 hours ago and the battery I think actually got worse than before I used to have it die with about 6 hours of light use and now I have lost 25% in the past hour.

Battery life seems to improved for me. Updated at around 7am this morningand had 100% battery. 12 and a half hours later I'm at 34% . Usually I'd be at around 10 - 15% now

Mine 4S and 3GS battery life is much better after the upgrade dropping 4% and 2% respectively without any activities from full charged at 7pm until 6am the next this morning.Under 5.01, it would be 6% respectively which means the newer 5.1 did solved or better the 5.01 update.

I'm right there with you. 5.1 did not make my battery any better. I have 12% left on my phone with 7 hours standby & 6 hours usage. Just crap! Apple failed big time.

its not that the phone has battery issues. the actual problem is that people have usage codependency issues with their phones. Its a computer in your pocket, that makes calls. What more do you want? if it wasn't glued to your hand from the moment you wake up till the time you got to bed, the battery might last a little longer. connect with the real world and you may see that you have an amazing invention that does more than anyone could have comprehended just a measly 20 years ago. With our world and society in its current state, we need to be focused on things a little more important than Battery Life.

The best solution I found for my 4s was to buy a Mophie Air external battery. The ones at the Apple Store are slim and hold a decent amount of charge equivalent to the phone's charge.
