Success. Kept getting the error. Erased and reset...but just kept on failing. I had updated to 5.1.1 via wifi. So I did a complete restore to 5.1.1. And it was a breeze. So if you are having problems. Backup. Do complete Restore. Thanks POD2G

When you finish the jailbreak, you click on the absinthe icon in your springboard. That adds cydia to your springboard.

Not working for me either. I’m getting the same issue of the progress bar gets about 3/4 of the way through, hangs for a few minutes, then tells me “Something went wrong” and goes into a recovery. * Getting the same .. What to do !!!!
-
Follow the steps mentioned in update 2, it should work.
-
No it works on only iOS 5.1.1
-
Follow the steps mentioned in update 2, it should work and don't forget to run Absinthe as an Administrator.
-
Search for Cydia using Spotlight, it may not be on the first Home screen page.

Tried 5 times on an iPad 2 Wi-Fi 5.1.1. Same as everyone else, it hangs and then tells me to "retry." I'm not a techie, so I don't know what's meant by "turn off passcode lock" or "pins." What can I do?
-
I don't believe your claim. If I got $500 I would spend them on another phone. Dude, be real!

THE SOLUTION to the "Recovery completed. If you want to retry jailbreaking" problem:Ipad 3 WIFI on windows 7 64bitYOU MUST RESET Your iPAd to (effectively) a brand new iPad via this process.---------------------------------------------------Install 5.1.1. via iTunes on PC*unplug* the USB cable from the iPad.Close iTunesTURN OFF iPadPLUG IN iPad into PC USB *AND* HOLD "home" button on iPad = recovery mode (This is CRUCIAL STEP)OPEN iTunes (if it doesnt open itself)RESTORE as a TOTALLY NEW iPAD (takes an age!).Once done, get through to Home screen on ipad by skipping as many iPad setup screens as you can - Leave iPad completely alone now. On Home screen.FINALLYRun ABsinthe WAITDONE!Cydia is on screen 2 of the iPad
