Two questions
1. I used tinyunbrella to keep my baseband and updated to 4.1 (iPhone 4) and jailbroke it..
Since I did that I'm still able to unlock my phone in the future currect?2. Has anybody found a way to fix bitesms on 4.1 or should I just wait for the fix or update?
Any answers would be nice

No, you didn't 'Brick you Phone'. Brick means you phone is just that - a worthless brick, good only to be thrown away. You restored your phone and got back what you had.
The update just didn't work for you, but no harm done. So try again or wait for a few more bug-fixes.

I have a question for you...was your iPhone 4 already jailbroken with jailbreakme.com before you did all of this?

windows 7/iPhone 4. JB fine. I found, when the phone enters DFU mode, DO NOT let go of the home button, just keep it pressed, eventually the limerain logo appears, still keep holding until the connect to itunes reappears, then let go and restart!

I had to do a restore, the JB, then restore from back up. All works now. Thanks everyone to invovled.

Im from Malaysia, and i had my iPhone 4, iOS 4.1.
Im using Windows XP and i had limera1n. Just predict as in imagination. I doubt that i able to JB but as if accidentally it locked carrier, is there anyway to unlock it? -
limera1n does not install 4.1... you must update through itunes then jailbreak with limera1n, however if you are looking to unlock dont upgrade to 4.1 until pwnagetool is released since itunes upgrade will also update your baseband which currently cannot be unlocked

it is your mistake! you're the one who was impatient to upgrade your iphone. if you don't like geohot, you shouldn't have used his jailbreaking too from the first place.

I think you are right about the iTunes thing, I tried terminating it's process, and then JB, with no success. I then went into safe mode to try it (since the iTunes software and drivers wouldn't load) But this prevented the JB software from detecting the phone also.
So finally I rebooted as normal, and I though, maybe I can JB my phone before the computer fully boots up its software. So I typed my name and password, and as soon as my desktop popped up, I plugged in my 3gs, and clicked the limera1n icon, and followed the instructions as normal... Tada! It worked :)
So thanks for the idea, I tried it this way cos I didn't want to tamper with iTunes as my backup was on there
And thanks to the developers for there hard work on this exploit :-*

Thanks for the info. From what I understand, yes, you should be able to preserve your unlock because the baseband wasn't updated. Tiny Umbrella is your friend. :)
So...one more question, please. Is this what you did?
1. Start Tiny Umbrella
2. Once the phone is recognized, click Start TSS Server.
3. Then, open iTunes. Hold down the "Shift" key, then click "Restore". This will allow you to choose your specific .ipsw file. *Where did you download your iPhone 4, 4.1 .ipsw file*
4. iTunes updates your iPhone to 4.1
5. You download limera1n, then make it ra1n.
6. Reboot the iPhone, then install Cydia from the limera1n icon on the iPhone.
7. Reboot once more just for good measure.
Are these the steps you followed? Also, did you already purchase any apps from Cydia? If so, did you have them once you upgraded to 4.1?Sorry for all of the questions. I want to make sure I have this right before I try it. I really appreciate your help!
