Guess i wont be getting any help? Im stuck. i cant JB on either of the two. greenp0isn almsot worked but then showed me some code on my iphone screen, and never showed JB, LimeRa1n is gets stuck in DFU forever. no one has any help? how does one get help from Developers without at least a FAQ or help site

OK When I attempted to upgrade to 4.1 it was unable to finish update..it was right near the end . showed an error
Unable to get it out of recovery mode.... used tinny umbrella to kick it out.. thanks Then realized it was now at 4.1... WTF.. ok then used Limera1n .. Any one know of any problems with this...

Down Load Tinnyumbrella and use it to kick it off of that!..

I have an iPhone 4 with original 4.0.2, I just Jailbroke it with Limera1n, then Unlocked w/Ultrasnow from Cydia, worked perfectly with my TMobile Sim Card (Cut the TMobile Sim card down to Micro size). Just don't update to 4.1 because as of today, there is no unlock solution for 4.1. Stick with 4.0.2 and your iPhone 4 works just fine UNLOCKED.

after jailbreak using this method, i am missing icons (calculator, calender and appstore) any suggestion?

I think you are right about the iTunes thing, I tried terminating it's process, and then JB, with no success. I then went into safe mode to try it (since the iTunes software and drivers wouldn't load) But this prevented the JB software from detecting the phone also

I had same problem. Tried the unlockit.co.nz software, but it did not work for me.
Thought it may have something to do with using a different SIM to unlock, so found the following, tried it and it did not work as described but somehow it opened up my 3G service:
3G was on, then remove the SIM
Use wifi to reinstall ultrasn0w (got an error when trying this, something to the tune that it could not connect to the repo666 server)
Restart springboard
Put SIM back in
And mysteriously the 3G data services started working.
The original post did indicate that you would have to do this every time you reboot your device, I have not tried it :) -

I am running 4.1 on my iphone 3GS and use a MACBOOK with itunes 10.0.1. Can I jailbreak using Limera1n yet or do I have to wait for another version to release specific to MAC?

I dont understand the last step (You should find Cydia on your iPhone’s homescreen. You can launch the limera1n app to uninstall it as it is no longer required). Do i delete limra1n or cydia? Other than this everything went awesome only had to retry once.

You can uninstall limera1n after you have successfully jailbroken your iPhone.

i would re set and try again. i am doing ok on my iphone 4 same with wifes 3gs and daughters ipod touch 4. i think its just an install issue of some sort?

How long does it take for the DFU mode to be done? mines been there for about 2 hours now??

this is awesome! worked on my iPhone 4 4.0.2 then downloaded ultrasn0w to unlock! i was about to return my iphone since i read about factory 4.0.2 cannot be jb or unlocked yet, then BAM! here comes limera1n!!!

Followed the steps mentioned and now my phone is jammed. I see the usb cable with an arrow pointing to iTunes on my screen. None of the buttons work! Pls help!!

I need HELP with something before I do this, please read and answer me the right answer :)
I just got an iPhone 4 from the UK and Its locked, 4.1, now before I do anything stupid I want to know if this method works on it or not, its on the new baseband and i'm a bit savvy when it comes to this unlocking and jailbreaking, so will it screw my phone or not, and what is the worst thing can happen to it if I messed up ?
PLEASE ANSWER ASAP.

dude... me too i have iphone 4 and i am quite familiar with jailbreakin and did it a couple of times since 3G and this is the first time I failed... tried 100 times but still limerain stays at "release power button"... i also tried greenpoison and it will prompt me to "Try Again". I tried what you did... uninstalled itunes 10 and installed 9.2 but still bot have same outcome... I also disabled firewall and antivirus (i dunno if this helps)... but still no luck... I dont know what else to do.. tried it to Windows xp and Windows 7... I have no other thing to do... please help
