yes i was gonna tweet but i know they'll be flooded already....hope they can fix asap
-
restore as in restore firmware? not just erase settings and data?
-
Agreed, but I hope they do it before I start my travels for the weekend. I was looking forward to not taking my laptop. I was even going to jailbreak my iPad for the first time ever.
-
First time i backup and update via iTunes and erase everything in iPhone (followed readme.txt), after all no lucky with jailbreak, no cydia appears on iPhone. 2nd time. After that i try to RESTORE in iTunes and then activating and jailbreak with Absinthe! Everything went FINE and now i have jailbroken and with CYDIA! :)My suggest: try to RESTORE clear iPhone, boot up and activate, then try to jailbreak and u will see "Done, enjoy!" ;) Good luck.

Reminds me of that saying, "the first casualty of war is the battle plan."They're smart guys, they'll get it done. But for a few hours/days we'll have to hear about how stupid they are from people who have no idea what they're talking about.

thanks for the tips, gonna try that now.....*fingers crossed*

Should mention I'm on a MacBook pro the most recent OSX.

Interesting. Trying that now. Could be a key. I just bought my iPhone 4S Wednesday and had to update to 5.1.1. I did so over the air. Now I'm doing a complete restore. Yuck...but it's worth a shot.

for those that did the unlock of SAM is really easy 1) make a back up of your iphone in my case i have a iphone 4s cdma sprint unlock it to t mobile.2) download ios 5.1.1 and install using itunes do not do a restore just update normal using itunes it will take a wile in my case took around 6 minutes or more. when the update is done you w ill notice that even with out a jailbreack the iphone will keep having signal with the carried that sam unlock your phone that mean that the ticket was save and u should not worry(rember if it fail you have a backup of all your settings)3 after is done you can run absinthe 2.0 over and you will jaibreack your phone and unlock it easy . Please remenber to do a back up of your LOCKdown folder somewere thanks

Restore your iDevice again to 5.1.1 on itunes or DFU mode. For me, I tried restoring in DFU mode. Then try jailbreaking again using Absinthe. Then Ta-da! Cydia should now pop up. Make sure to run it as admin though. Cheers mate! :D
-
and i have just donate i will now proceed to jaibreack my ipad 2 :D thank u guys

tried with iphone 4s running 5.1.1&Ipad 3 wifi running 5.1.1same problem everyone else is having on both, the progress bar hangs saying "waiting for process to complete", no payload note comes up, nothing else after that apart from "oops something has gone wr.....bla bla"anyone have any suggetsions? they would be greatly apprecioated cos I reckon this is the biggest anti climax EVER!!!!

For those experiencing the hmmm, something went wrong," message, just restore your device again in iTunes or DFU mode. then try to jailbreak again using Absinthe. It worked for me. Hope this helps! :D
-
absinthe wont recognise the device if its in DFU? or have i misunderstood??#

I just performed a jailbreak on my iPhone 4SThe process seemed completed, said ''recovery complete'' in the details of what's going on with the install...But all I had was the progress bar full, but no button or indication that it was successful.Turning to the phone, no trace of cydia anywhere.Help please. Thanks

OOps - should've read before posting - my bad!
-
restore first in DFU then use absinthe after the restore process.

Shinji confirmed as i understand in following posts, it works :) U can manually download ipsw and update in DFU or as i told, just RESTORE simple with iTunes first, than jailbreak. ;)
-
there's only one version for ipad and iphone.. has just jailbroken first gen ipad, ipad 2, iphone 4 and iphone 4s.. all went without a hitch... and it showed the same message on the absinthe interface..
