This tutorial will help you get your IOS 7 activated and you will keep all the media that was previously on the device. This has only been tested on the Iphone 4
First You will need a few pieces of software, this cool Java application (which does most of the work)
Link
PuTTy and TinyUmbrella
Before starting backup your iphone on to Itunes and put it into airplane mode.
Once the restore is complete you will see IOS 7 welcome screen
Power the iphone off and into DFU mode, and it is plugged in into the computer
Run the Java application just downloaded above and it will run a few codes of Magic
When its done you should see this
Right after that fire up PuTTy and put in localhost as hostname and the port the java application specified
Then you should a window that will prompt you for a username and password, which is root and alpine.
Right after that run mount.sh in the terminal, then type in the following commands
When you boot up you will see the iphone recovery screen, don't mind that just TinyUmbrella to get out of recovery mode
The iphone should boot up after a few and you will also be able to reboot your device and still use it.
*Since it isnt officially activated it may have limited compatibility around Itunes, but I will look into that later
*Update, Itunes works on Iphone 4!

anything for the Ipad mini?

Until I get my hands on one of those I can't say anything but Apple's OS isn't a big complex watson like computer, its a GUI based on FreeBsd I think, So understand that and take your pokes and peeks until you get it working

MobileDevice event: DfuDisconnect, 33b1227, 4008930

Is it a CDMA iphone or GSM
-
A quick update: if you get the session can't be started is because although the phone is working it is logically not activated yet, to get around it just hit Ok and resume, everything should work from there on
-
its gsm rev.2 iphone 4 8gb.

Hello,
How this could be done with an iphone 5?
regards -
Does it work with iOS 7.0.2?
-
Oh, I thank You so much!!! I've been waiting for this since iOS7 release. That's a pity I saw your topic only today. But that works perfectly and it works on 7.0.2. I'm so glad!!! : )))

Hey Cheikh Shift, I followed the procedure but keep getting the itunes activation screen. I see you Updated the post saying it was now working but can't figure it out, any help would be appreciated. thanks

I get stuck right after mount.sh
This is what I get:
cd: mnt1/Applications: No such file or directory -
Ok I finally got past the problem and deleted Setup.app (seems the issue was I had to type cd /mnt1/Applications instead of cd mnt1/Applications).
But now I have the "No Service" problem since without Setup.app the phone apparently will not recognize the carrier.
Any way around that please? Or is there a copy of Setup.app that I can download and replace? -
Can you do this without the sleep/wake button somehow? Mine's broken :(

try using somethign else to apply the force of the button, but you can't do it without it, DFU is accessed by hardware key combinantions

@Octomammoth this is only a temp solution so you can use your phone's features I'm not sure how to get the network working
-
@stan69b try powering the phone on and off and also update your itunes, the iphone icon should show up in the top right corner in itunes

Heyy!! First of all... i been searching and trying tons of stuff till i got to ur post! Youre a lifesaver!... I was able to get iphone 4 with ios 7 finally bypassing screen so the iphone can be usable... The only thing is that itunes still does not bypass he activation message, so i cant acces the information of my iphone on itunes, so i can restore the backup i made before updating to ios 7, so i can recovery all my notes, contacts, videos, etc... how can i bypass itunes as you did?
-
make sure you have the latest itunes and plug it in it should show up on the top right corner
-
i cant get past mount sh stage it keep saying could not mount system volume; retry later or file a bug. any idea how to get past that?
-
i found a way to bypass the itunes activation screen by putin the iphone in airplane mode before pluging the phone to the computer. iTunes will state that you need to turn airplane mode off to activate but will let you use the iphone as you would with a normal activation.

maybe try following this video, but instead of ios 7 ipsw use ios 6. i never tried , i cannot guarantee it will work and with your power button problem, you might end up in a situation where you can not restore the iphone if anything goes wrong ... else, you can change your power button yourself, use ifixit tutorial , organise your screws during dismantle and you'll be alright. i use amazon for spare parts.R3Lax1 said:

i have a problem with push notification. Have you got any solution with this? @Cheikh Shift

since 6.1.3 hacked firmware doesnt have the notifications, it has been a bug for a while
-
On the upside if you turn your phone off you don't need a commputer to boot it

Does it work on iphone 5 ios 7?
