Unlock For iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G On iOS 4.2.1 Released [Updated]
iPhone Dev Team has released the eagerly awaited unlock for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users on iOS 4.2.1 just as they had promised.
Apple had patched the exploit that allowed users to unlock their iPhone in iOS 4.1 released on September 8 so it has been a long wait for users who wanted to software unlock their iPhone to use it with any carrier.
Dev Team has provided the following information on their blog about the free software unlock:

Off topic but if I jailbreak my 4 with 4.2.1, and it reboots/runs out of power and I'm away from home..Can I install red snow on a pc and restart it, even if the pc doesn't have iTunes on it?Pardon my ignorance please, not sure that's all.

I am a Jailbreaker and Unlocker. I have my 3gs 32 GB with 3.1.3(7E18) / Modem Firmware 05.12.01 Can I update to 4.2.1 directly from Itunes? Then Jailbreak with Redsnow and then Unlock with UltraSnow? Is that all ? Is there any risk ? Thanks

I just install ultrasn0w 1.2 and no service with my BB 5.14.02 I am on 4.2.1 3gs MC model.Not working at all, any idea?

Ultrasn0w 1.2 does not unlock baseband 05.14.02, it can only unlock basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and now 06.15.00.To update your baseband to 06.15.00, you need to use PwnageTool (Mac) or Redsn0w (Windows).

Ultrasn0w 1.2 does not unlock baseband 05.14.02, it can only unlock basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and now 06.15.00.To update your baseband to 06.15.00, you need to use PwnageTool 4.1.3 for Mac (released) or Redsn0w for Windows (will be released today)

Some1 said "I updated my 3GS to 4.2.1 and it says it is modem 5.15.04 " Ultrasn0w does not cover BB 5.15.04 either. How do you be sure u jailbreak with Redsn0w to get 06.15.00 BB. I just wish Ultrasn0w with 5.14 more headache!

What iPhones hacks is trying to say is dat u can't unlock 5.14 because of fucking apple or 5.15 we have to upgrade r baseband to 6.15 so that means we have to go for another process of jailbreking n unlocking....

The only cons is not having warranty no more.... But everyone should know that unlock iPhones r more valuable then lock phones.... But it let's everyone know to take care of there phones better
