I have iphone 3g with bb 5.13.X...using with custom FW 4.1...of course, jailbroken and unlocked with ultrasn0w.If I update the phone for 4.2.1, what BB do i get?Do you advice to upgrade to 4.2.1...its iphone 3g. Thanks a lot

SMH... so it means that now we have to wait for redsn0w so we can unlock our iphones 3G & 3GS??? more waiting thats awesome. :-(bt im counting on them to release the new redsn0w today! so i can update to baseband 6.15 so can i just update to firmware 4.2.1? so when they release the new redsn0w i just update my baseband to 6.15 with redsn0w??

Hey guys, is it safe for me to upgrade to 4.2.1 on my 3G BB 05.13.04. I want to unlock it. If possible can you give the link to the stuff i need to download. Im on windows btw.

This is what I understand from the blog.If you are using 3gs and you are stuck on BB 05.14.2 and it's locked...you have to upgrade to 6.15 which can be achieved by downloading the iPad 3.2.2 ipws and using pwnagetool 4.1.3 to create a custom ipws to restore. Once this is done, you can now goto cydia and install ultrasnow to unlock your 6.15.But there are pros and cons but whats pros could there be for a locked phone...Any corrections?

I wish and I believe that it could be usable for every jailbreaker to create a very simple step by step instruction by dev. team how to process the unlocking.What do you think?

I tried the Pwnage unlock edition which is supposed to cook up the custom firmware and the iPad baseband to be used with iPhone 3g and it fails everytime. Anybody else getting this?

there's a special pwnagetool for this ie PwnageTool 4.1.3 Unlock Edition not the other one. You must download this version and not the old one!

I think so tooWaiting for Redsn0w for Window and i think i can stay with ISO 4.1 no need to update to 4.2.1. You'll need both Ipad 3.2.2 Iphone 4.1 or 4.2.1 firmware for this to be able update to ipad BB

Can someone please correct me if im wrong but i understand that people using windows are unable to unlock their 3G or 3GS until redsn0w is released in a few hours. This is a quote from the dev teams webpage "Only do this if you need the unlock and you’re stuck on 05.14 or 05.15." So i guess that unless your stuck on Baseband 05.14 and 05.15 then dont upgrade.

READ THIS CAREFULLY 3G/S USERS WITH 5.14/5.15 Modem Version, your going to need to update your baseband to an iPad baseband to be able to unlock. ULTRASN0W DOES NOT WORK FOR 5.14/5.14 BBREAD THE BLOG CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FOLLOW THE STEPS BECAUSE IT COULD RESULT IN YOU LOSING YOUR CHANCE OF AN UNLOCK!!!

If your on version 5.15/5.14 BB then choose iPad.

ok...so once pwnage creates the custom firewire...then I restore with iTunes? and install ultrasnow through cydia to unlock?

Yes, Windows users need to wait for Dev Team to release Redsn0w.You should only upgrade to 06.15.00 only if you are stuck on baseband 05.14.02 or baseband 05.15.04.
