oh so i update my phone to 4.2. run redsn0w and then point it to the ipad fw and turn it into a custom ipsw and then restore off it? keeping my 4.2 but changing the bb?

Just unlocked my iphone 3gs 4.1 on 05.14 using ultrasn0w. It works people give it a shot.

my iphone 3g is still in 05.13 baseband do i upgrade it to 05.15 to make it 6.15????? or do i wait for another jailbreak that will work with 05.13??? please answer guys!!

NO! 5.15 is bundled with 4.2.1 6.15 is an ipad exploitable bb

Certainly don’t update to 06.15 if you don’t need to! Only do this if you need the unlock and you’re stuck on 05.14 or 05.15, and you’re willing to assume the above risks.

Yep! Am on the new bootrom iPhone 3Gs. Was on FW 4.1 locked with baseband 05.14 now I am on 4.1 unlocked using ultrasn0w on baseband 6.15

Try switching it back on again in settings. seriously though, did you try to JB it or what? its no good telling what the problem is if you don't tell us what you're up to.

all i know this Beep pissing me off i tested all my phones still getting stuck somewheres also useing different methods but ending up in same spot oh well.....

@LEE, during the process, it will ask you to input iphone FW first and then it will ask you to input ipad FW to get to 6.15, which will extract that BB from ipad FW

Redsn0w work for me on windows xp not windows 7 (frozen during scandisk uploading) Now my is 4.1 and 6.15 BB

im using redsnow but its hanging for a long time upon waiting for reboot....any thoughtsI downloaded the ipad 1.3227 and redsnow acknowledged it and proceeded but now it hangs at reboot

3G BB 5.14 and no jailbreak. Can I just go straight to Redsnow, BB6.15, then unlock with Ultrasn0w, w/o the initial jailbreak. Recommended jailbreak if so?

you can upgrade for your iphone 3g if you like as long as your sure that your baseband will stay below the ones required by ultrasnow in my opinion sure you can but before doing that download the available redsnow and the 4.1.2 software after you finish downloading the firmware tested on the redsnow to see if it works, if redsnow accepts the ipsw well your good to go!
