ive updated my baseband and now all my iphone 3gs is showing is the connect to itunes screen, WTF help pls!!!!

i consider my self knowledgeable on this matter, but i have to ask. once updated can you roll back using you SHSH saved via tinyunbrella? Is there a way to get it back to factory setting and iOS?

you will need to update to the new software provided by itunes then after that download the iphone software via felixbruns.com search for the one that saids iphone 3g 4.2.1 download it and use it with readsnow to unlock your iphone

Ok…for all those people using MAC and running an iPhone 3Gs (new bootrom) 4.1 with baseband 05.14.02 locked. You cannot upgrade to the 4.2.1 on 3gs using Pwnage but if you really want you can use redsn0w to create a tethered jailbreak which means you will have to connect the phone to your PC anytime you restart it.So, to jailbreak and unlock a new bootrom iPhone 3GS running 4.1 on 05.14 fw, do the ff;1. Download iphone 3GS 4.1 FW2. Download iPad 3.2.2 FW3. Pwnage Unlock Edition4. iTunes 10.1- Start Pwnage Unlock Edition- Select iPhone from the choices- Choose the iPhone 4.1 FW- Pwnage will prompt you if you want to upgrade the baseband to that of the iPad – select yes and browse for the iPad 3.2.2 FW- Pwnage starts creating the bundle- Once done, dfu your iPhone, launch iTunes 10.1 and restore using the custom ipws.- Launch cydia and download ultrasn0w to unlock.if you having problems creating the bundle, please download the fixed bundle (http://iphwn.org/iPhone2,1_4.1_8B117.bundle.zip), and unzip it if Safari hasn’t already done so. Then “Show Package Contents” of PwnageTool.app, navigate to Contents->Resources->FirmwareBundles and drop it there. Once you have done this, relaunch pwnage and repeat the steps above.

darren i just install everything and it works fine try doing all the process again meaning restoring the phone and after using redsnow hack it works fine

i have iphone 4, i dont need the unlock, can i jailbreak it with redsnow on firmware 4.2.1 or ill have to wait? p.s um on the AT&T i dont need the unlock

ive tried reinstalling it all again, it goes thru the jailbreak sequence then gets to the apple logo then just comes up with connect to itunes logo.dont know what to do next

1 thing that might help people after u download n save redsnow remember to extract files then run as windows xp (service pack 2) n under administrator hopefully it helps...

@koomoo whats the reb 4.0 you mentioned??just run it all again but in xp service pack 2, it got to the flashing bb part then sat there for about 5 mins before rebooting and showing recovery mode again.HELP!!!!

its a program to boot u out of DFU mode/ recovery mode.... red snow is starting to work for me now i just unlock a 3G n 3GS

after u extract the file u should of got a new red snow folder.... Darren did u apply the setting before u ran the program again>?

still having no joy, just run tinyumbrella, it boots it out of recovery mode, apple logo shows up for a minute then its asthough iphone reboots again and then back into recovery mode

i know that my 3gs 8gb MC 40 week new bootrom i already had limerain installed so i just click on ipad baseband n it work i'm running windows 7... i also use the ipsw 4.1 for 3gs that i download from http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ hopefully any of this helps

ok mate just download the 4.1 you said then will try again, just tried ireb 4.0 it took it out of recovery and gave me apple logo until phone rebooted itself and went back into recovery mode, begining to wish i hadnt started this now, but cheers for all you help hopefully i will have a working iphone again soon

Worked for me just fine. I picked the 4.1 ipsw and the iPad BB. T-Mobile works fine. Can't thank you guys (and gals) enough. It now shows I'm on the 4.1 version with the 6.15 Modem Firmware and I think all is well.
