when I select iphone it doesn't find the ipad 3.2.2 ipws when in simple mode...and when I goto expert mode it says bundle error...and when I select ipad it starts to create the custom ipws and then it stops and says fail???

if anyone has iphone 3g/3gs...do they need to go thro pwnage to get 6.15 BB, does not matter what the BB one has to have 4.2.1 unlocked???

You should use the iPhone ipsw the first time, you will be prompted for the iPad ipsw later on.

am sooo confused right now! So I should download the iphone 4.1.2 ipws and use the pwnage unlock edition to create a custom 4.1.2 bundle? At what point will it ask for the iPad ipsw??

You need to use the iPad ipsw only when you are prompted. PwnageTool extracts the exploitable baseband in iOS 3.2.2 and will replace the baseband in iPhone ipsw, which you then need to use to restore your iPhone.

If your iPhone 3G is on iOS 4.2.1 (baseband 05.15.04), then it means that it you will have to use PwnageTool to update the baseband to 06.15.00, which can then be unlocked using Ultrasn0w. However, please read the risks of updating baseband to 06.15.00.

what? are you serious dev team? you're already dealing with a user base that is, by all accounts, not technically apt (e.g. the large numbers of people that "accidentally" upgrade their BB) and this is your next great unlock release? you confuse the user base even further? by telling them that the 5.14.02 (which seems to be the larger # of users complaining) unlock won't work unless they upgrade their phones with a different devices BB/FW? an even more confusing process with pitfalls to lead the user to what could potentially be a bricked device...and/or still locked...possibly forever? wtf.

Your not! You need to update the the new baseband 6.15 or get your phone on one of the basebands listed!

Ok...to summarize.Am using iPhone 3Gs 4.1 with baseband 05.14.02 locked.To jailbreak and unlock I have to do the ff;1. Download iphone 3Gs 4.1 FW2. Download iPad 3.2.2 FW3. Pwnage Unlock Edition4. iTunes 10.1- Start Pwnage Unlock Edition- Select iPhone from the choices- Choose the iPhone 4.1 FW- Pwnage will prompt you if you want to upgrade the baseband to that of the iPad - select yes and browse for the iPad 3.2.2 FW- Pwnage starts creating the bundle- Once done, dfu your iPhone, launch iTunes 10.1 and restore using the custom ipws.Am I right?

Yes or wait for snowbreez or for them to update pawnage tools with other bundles! But this might only worke with older 3GS rom and I think 3G!

I am so confused I have a 3G on 4.0.1 and want to update to 4.2.1. My firmware is 05.13.04, all this stuff is confusing to me. If I update in itunes won't my unlock be tethered?

Its not updated to run with 4.2.1 it will work with 4.1

Pawnage tool and snowbreez were the only tools that would update with out changing the BB, but because more people have the newer bootrom the Dev team released pawnage this time without all the bundles so pawnage is like redsnow for the mac!

go to aples webstite or there is a wiki site with all the Ios ver and what they provide. you will see that 4x offers more features the 3x and I have herd that 4.2.1 on 3G is pretty good!

disappointing and misleading for the last few weeks.i think the last 3-4 months every tool for jailbreak and unlock tool is a nightmare for the users.its getting worst and apple is in the advantage side.even my 3g is like junk cant imagine how 3gs and 4 users are.their genius way to unlock is thevworst ever!!!

If you have an iPhone 3GS with older bootrom then you should wait for Dev team to release an updated version of PwnageTool with the fixed bundle.If you have an iPhone 3GS with newer bootrom you can try it out, but remember to read the risks of updating to 06.15.00
