It looks like you have some host file entries. Remove them or try jailbreaking from another computer.

im newbie on this, i have the iphone 4 ios 5.0.1 with baseband 4.11.08 original unlocked to all carriers. It is possible to jailbreak it once i dont need to unlock it?

to avoid getting error 1600, run tiny umbrella, save your SHSH, then run TSS server.It worked with me but now I'm getting Unknown error (11), ideas anyone?

If you're getting the 1600 error, edit your host files (mac: sudo nano /private/etc/hosts) [control-O to save, control-X to exit] in terminal, and # out any apple.com

Hey, guys!! I found how to solve problem 1600!! In Tinyumbrella go to "advanced" and turn of "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit"

I had the same problem. I´ve tried tinyumbrella, iReb and turned off my firewall. I´m getting the error 11 too.

put # in front of the first ipso it's #74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

Can you just update from apple if you dont care about the baseband? Beacuse im still on 4.10.01.

The same question, i have 4.3.5 /04.10.01/jailbreak- will i be able after all these actions to have untethered 5.0.1 and unlocked or unlock remains only with a gevey sim?Thanks.

@iphonehacks: You were right- I restored the original host file and it when very well. thank you.And for people who want to know if it works with gevey sim, I can attest that it does work. Just don't forget to turn off 3G before performing unlock. Thanks to you all.
