i did restore my iphone with the iOS 5 firmware file (iPhone 4 users - please select NO_BB_iPhone3,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw ,but at the welcoming screen the phone kept asking for a valid sim card and i cant get pass it , i was using gevey card to unlock my phone (baseband 04.10.08). please helppppppppppppp

It's not a factory unlock though. Does that change anything?

most sources are down because of server overload.. bigboss repo, sinful etc..if you need your apps from them then i would just wait a couple days and let things calm down..

i am running that same base band and im able to log into cydia the problem im having is i cant update Nothing i get this constant scources can not be found i cant install winterboard nothing

And thanks for mentioning resetting the network settings. I had to do the same thing. Otherwise my update and jb went pretty smooth. :)

how do i restore all my settings and app by using icloud? I know i will have to "Erase All Content and Settings", but the problem is after JB, seems i could not do that? I wait for about 7~8 minutes, it still didn't show anything done with "Erase All Content and Settings". Then i reboot my device. Pls help, thx.

error 1604, 1600 and 3014. thanks to many user’s reply i had finally gotten pass these errors. In your tiny umbrella>advance tab uncheck “set host to cydia on exit and request shsh from cydia”. seems like the upgrade is going through without any error.

I figured it out: First, as i said, chose the option "Erase All Content and Settings", I waited totally about 15m, nothing happened, still loading, then I hold the power butten and home button, to force it powed off. Second, press power butten to power it on, then, go to the settings, chose the option "erase all the settings", then it works! I mean it will restart and lead to the original set up page as a new phone. u could restore it from your icloud backup then. Good luck guys!

I need some help if you don't mind, just did the new untethered on ios 5 and cydia won't let me install winterboard because it has dependencies and for whatever reason doesn't give me the option to install them... any idea how to fix this? Same thing when I try to install a new bootlogo.

if it is not factory unlock, it would be updated to new baseband. but this tutorial here is to preserve your baseband. so it is safe to follow exactly this tutorial steps so not to update your baseband. then you are able to use ultrasnow to unlock it again. cheers.

I'm using iphone 4 GSM. Made a clean restore to stock 5.0.1 and jailbreak using redsnOw 0.9.10b1. All run okay EXCEPT the iBooks app. Get error warning every time I tried to open it. It says configuration error and requires me to redownload ibooks.

Got the same problem last nite. This is what i did. I edited hosts file by inserting # symbol in front the ip address of XXXXXX gs.apple.com. Looks like below.#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.comAfter that the restore process works fine.
