i have an iphone 4 jailbreak and unlock using ios 4.0.1 baseband 01.59.00. i do not live in the states so i use a sim card from another country.if i do this will i be able to upgrade to ios 5 and still maintain my jailbreak and unlock?

i'm getting a message the iphone could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build.my itune version is 10.5.2 (the latest version i suppose) what can i do??

Can some one help me? I used redsnow to up grade my iphone from 4.3.3 to 5.0.1 my bb is 01.59.00.... the problem is that i have no cydia!!!!! there for i can't unlock my iphone :(if some one has an idea it would be great!!!!!!

i restored again and everything went well. all my apps working fine but when i restored all my jb apps using xBackup after that most of my apps don't work fb, chase, bofa, mail, etc. but I'm still thankful @pod2g and Chronic Dev for making this thing happened. you guys are the BOMB!

cydia app does not show after jailbreak, did the process twice still same thing. anyone know a fix??

Wow. My friend and I had tons of trouble with this. He has a 3GS with the Old Bootrom and he had to use the New Bootrom IPWS for it to work.We encountered the 1600 Error many times. When the IPWS would finally install, the iPhone wouldn't restart out of the DFU. We were unable to turn the phone back on from the results of different combinations of button presses. Further multiple attempts to install iOS 5.0.1 would result in an error. Removing the Hosts will not work as we never had Apple Hosts in the first place. The only thing we could do was use iREB to fix the 1600 error. Fortunately the iPhone was already in DFU so we didn't have to do it ourselves. We then tried to use the New Bootrom when we were not supposed to, and it worked perfectly fine.TLDR: Use iREB to remove 1600 error if the Host file fix doesn't work. If on 3GS, give the opposite Bootrom a try.

I have an iphone 4 software unlocked running on basebend 1:59:00.... just a question: do my iphone need to be connected with my laptop when redsnow is creating the BB custom IPSW or i can do that before connecting the iphone to itunes and when redsnow has created the custom file i plugin the iphone....reason is when i connect my iphone and use redsnow for cretion of the BB file the laptop just hangs....plz reply ASAP....thanx

you need to jailbreak as soon as you have updated firmware then you can install ultrasn0w

SMOOTH sailing saved modem firmware updated to ios 5 then jailbroke absolutely flawless even without updating itunes dident need to edit any hostfiles or nothing ? cant see how your having issuesphone seems smoother BUT even on 4.3.5 i got reception issues 3gs 06.15.00 same now i think little to early to tell if is as bad?

just clik next and next answer the questions THEN it will ask to activate if not orginal sim it wontthats the point u put ni dfu mode and jailbreak and on reboot you will be on the home screen after you restore from backup or not

Yes, I am also having such error every time I try restore step.It seems to me that below steps do not work for me(steps 11 to 13):"(c) Now release the Power button while keeping the Home button pressed until Redsn0w detects the device:Step 12: Redsn0w will run the Limera1n exploit.Step 13: You will be notified when your iPhone is in Pwned DFU mode. The Pwned DFU will allow you to restore your iPhone using the custom iOS 5 firmware file."Please help me guys ?

Thank you. Everything worked perfectly and installed easy. Only issue I found is that while I have a white I phone, the icon i get when the phone is plugged into a PC is black instead of white as before.
