Hi all,I finally got my iPhone 4 jailbroken using my Mac from 4.0.2 to 5.0.1 while keeping the baseband at 1.59.00. After I was done with the process, the phone seems to work fine - I was trying to install some basic Cydia apps on my iphone like Activator, SBSettings. Looks like I cannot install any of them now...Cydia says some sources are missing. What do you think I did wrong ? The whole JB process took about 4 hours...Is there anyway to reinstall just Cydia ?Please help.

I had the same problem of 1 bar after my JB. I added http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com to the sources and installed Ultrasnow app. Then I restarted the phone to see 3-4 bars on 3G as usual. Good luck...

I ran into the same problem. Are you using a Windows XP machine? If so there is a problem with the latest version of Redsn0w working with xp when using EXTRAS and Create Custom IPSW for the iPhone 4. I have the 3gs, 4 and 4s. I was able to use redsn0w on the PC to work on the 3gs but not the 4. I used a friends MAC and used redsn0w and made the custom ipsw file for iPhone 4 5.0.1 then transferred it via external drive back to my PC and was back in business. By the Windows 7 doesn't seem to be affected by this from what I've read, just XP. Maybe they will get this bug worked out.

redsn0w can't find my iphone after i enter DFU mode, only iTunes says smth about recovery mode. I own a Iphone 4 and am running a PC on Windows 7. Can somebody please help

After the phone enters the DFU mode, the next steps are on iTunes. Press Shift + Restore on your PC and select the .ipsw file that you either downloaded or had Redsnow custom prepare for you. Refer to step # 15 in this guide above for the rest. It worked for me.

Search for 'Error 3194' on this page - they say your phone didn't enter the DFU mode properly. I didn't get that error so cant help with the exact solution.

HI same problem cydia acting weird. Taking very long time to download repositories and apps. Mostly giving POSIX time out error, files failed to download. BUT rest is fine T mobile is running well. I managed to install **** 4 so i am able to download apps fast. everything seems to be good except cydia time out errors for app. ANybody facing same isssues?

Just tried installing SBSettings and Activator. Seems to have worked fine. Looks like the dev team fixed Cydia issues. Try installing apps again. Now trying to see if I can install Spire to get SIRI working but it seems like a lot of effort and I dont want to mess up my JB and phone.

For all those who have been having problems with Cydia after jailbreaking, try downloading the apps again - they worked for me just now. Looks like Dev-team has fixed the Cydia issues. Thank you all for providing support...I was able to install Activator, SBSettings and WinterBoard.

Please add dfull support for keyboard access to the jailbreaking apps. It would help people with visual impairements to work with the tools.

I just ran Redsn0w to read the custom IPSW file and got an error indicating that memory was exhausted. Any thoughts?

I have an iPhone 4 running on 4.2.1 and unlocked with Gevey sim. Every time I try to restore the custom ispw, itunes keeps telling me that my iPhone is not eligible for the requested build. I downloaded the iPhone 4 ispw from the link given and followed all the instructions. Please let me know if anyone is having the similar problems.
