How to Unlock Your iPhone Using SAM [Video]
We've some great news for users who want to unlock their iPhone.
Hacker Loktar_Sun from weiphone.com has managed to successfully unlock iPhone 4S using SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) - a jailbreak tweak that until now allowed users to hacktivate their iPhones.
Update: SAM has been updated by Sam Bingner, which makes it a lot easier to unlock your iPhone. Check this post for the step-by-step instructions to unlock your iPhone using the latest version of SAM.

IMSI is available when tap on More Information under SIM Details. You can access it via the Settings app (Settings -> SAM -> More Information) or if you launch SAMPrefs (tap on More Information)

In step9 iTunes said: The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported, and does not activate the phone. :(

I have a CDMA iPhone 4S BB 4.0.13 iOS 5.0.1locked to Au by KDDI (Japan) and I'm trying to use it using Globe Telecom here in the Philippines.I followed all the steps but I get lost when I connect my iPhone to iTunes (Version 10.6.1) on my computer (Mac OS X 10.7 Lion). I don't get a prompt where I get to reactivate my phone.so to cut it short, I'm lost with steps 9-14, HELP PLEASE! :(

Hmm. There is 2 version of SAM in my cydia repos. First i tried the iTweaks one, and now i cant reinstall the Bingner version.

Step 7 : when i tap "Spoof Real SIM to SAM". it's appear to change "Method" to manual itself .Than I connect my iPhone to the iTune , It show that " The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported, and does not activate the phone " . any help ple :(

any one know what carrier chose for sprint?

You will be able use a SIM card from a GSM carrier like T-Mobile USA using this method. It won't work with CDMA carriers.

It should work as there has been no mention of any baseband limitations. Let us know how it goes.

those of you having the issues with step 6 use "auto" instead "by country" then go to info and copy IMSI and follow the rest like it says. I had issues with my IMSI when selected by country then I selected auto and it gave me the right IMSI in info section and I was able to unlock.

I have BB 02.10.04 and want to know if it 100% work with BB 4.12.00. If it's true, I'll update my BB.

I was able to unlock iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.1 latest baseband (no iPad BB) and like I said the only problem I faced was getting the correct IMSI code but switching to auto gave me the right number. thanks iphonehacks for this wonderful info...

i got it working i dint find the name o spring in the list of sam i just use the ICCID IS THIS NUMBER 8901010008847356757 I JUST PUT THAT ON STEP Step 7: Go to More Information", copy or write down the IMSI in "SAM Details", then tap "Spoof Real SIM to SAM".Step 8: Go back to the main SAM screen and change your "Method" to manual. Paste or enter the IMSI string we saved in Step 7.

If you are in Ph chek your internet connection speed, well its working here in Japan bb 4.11.08 i4s. Just select AUTO in step 6 not by Country.

You only need the one that you want to unlock in your iPhone and by selecting auto instead by country you will get the right IMSI code and follow the rest

IT WORKS!! :D Had no issue with my Swedish carrier but danish was a bit harder (small carrier, owned by another, using the network from a third part and so on)So on Step 6 i used auto detect method and did as the rest of instructions, worked perfect!Thaaanks so much and good luck everyone else!

Didn't work work me. My iphone 4s is activated but locked to sprint. I wanted it to work here in the Philippines with Globe Telecom. I did get signal bars but no carrier name beside it and network is not available :(If you have any other solution, please do let us know. Thanks
