This is for all those who are facing the error 'The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.'Follow this and you are likely to unlock your iPhone no matter what BB.*open SAM after installing it from cydia.*go to utilities and select 'de-activate iPhone'. Now your activation state in 'more info' should be unactivated.*enable SAM and select the 'BUNDLE WITH' method first (this is to activate your iPhone in itunes)*select the Carrier&Country to which it is locked (eg. ATT_US) and if you don't know what the sim ID is, select the first one that appears. *now connect your iPhone with your PC and open up itunes. Let itunes do its job. Once done, you will see your activation state changing to 'WildcardActivated' *your iPhone should now be activated and it will no longer show that error in itunes.*now open up SAM again and continue with the original process. Select method as 'Carrier&Country' this time.*Enjoy, you're good to go.

HiI live in Malaysia. I am using iphone 4 BB 4.10.01 with Gevey Sim. Today I followed the instruction with Gevey Sim inside my iphone and set the carrier to Auto Detect and it works!!! I took out the Gevey Sim and now it is fully unlocked..

I have a Sprint locked iPhone 4S.Which carrier did you select in SAM carrier list after choosing the country ? In other words, how did you find out which IMSI to enter on Step 7 ?I don't see Sprint there.

It means that you are hacktivated. Just click "Revert Lockdownd to Stock"

I tried that but it still doesn't work, what should I see after I connect my iPhone to iTunes? I also noticed when I reboot my iPhone it went back to the activation state. but not when I connect it to iTunes, I didn't give a notification that I need to activate the iPhone :(My internet connection was fine too :(

If you have it unlocked for a carrier in another country, can you use another sim card by just changing it? Or do you have to go thru the unlock process again?

Can't SAM activate iPhone 4S 32GB black MD242J (I think it's Softbank Japan CDMA or something). Tried auto, and by country and carrier. Any other way to check original carrier besides model MD242J?

I have a Bell 4S in Canada and want to unlock to Rogers. Bell phone will not even recognize Rogers SIM even though everything with SAM worked fine. Anyone have any luck in Canada?

Please, elaborate. What IMSI did you use? ICCID? Did you remove or insert the sim at any point? I am on Sprint with a 4S as well.

Now I got as far as having bars on the phone with the Rogers SIM but iTunes still says "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported." Any ideas?

All I know is that was purchased from Japan. So that would pe Softbank or KDDI.
